Gold Cruise in Columbia
We will traveling back in time in our classics to visit one of the Sierra's oldest gold towns, Columbia in Tuolumne County. Breakfast or Lunch will be in an original building where is staff dressed in time period clothing.

About the event

The 2026 Fall cruise will be a trip back in time to when gold was being mined all over the Sierra Mountains. One of the largest strikes was in Tuolumne County in a the community north of Sonora known as Columbia. The area was along a Native American trail where the locals would trade items and stories. There was an extreme lack of water in this area in the summer, but in the winter there was plenty of water and gold was found right on the ground and in the streams. Once the gold was found in 1850 the settlers built an aqueduct to bring water to the area. The community quickly grew to 5,000 residents, mostly looking for gold while others established businesses along the "main" street.
